Professional Liability Insurance for Physician Assistants
As a physician assistant, you face a unique set of legal risks. Because you work so closely with your supervising physician (and often several physicians), you’re more likely to be named in a malpractice lawsuit. That’s why it’s important for you to have financial protection against anything that may jeopardize your livelihood. Your employer’s professional liability coverage is focused on protecting your employer. You need coverage that is focused on insuring you.
With malpractice insurance for physician assistants offered through HPSO, you will receive insurance from an organization with more than 20 years of experience defending healthcare professionals.
As a physician assistant, coverage through HPSO provides you with the following expanded features and benefits:
Professional Liability Coverage
Covers you, up to $1 million each claim, for amounts that you become legally obligated to pay as a result of a professional liability claim arising out of a covered medical incident.
Covers you, up to $5 million annual aggregate, for all covered claims in the policy period.
License Protection – up to $25,000 annual aggregate
If your client, a spouse, family member, etc. complains about you to a state licensing board, you could face the challenge of defending your practice and license—and thousands of dollars in legal fees. A policy through HPSO will reimburse you up to the applicable limit for your defense of disciplinary charges and other covered expenses arising out of a covered incident.
Defendant Expense Benefit – up to $25,000 annual aggregate, up to $1,000 per day

Personal Liability Coverage – up to $1 million annual aggregate
